In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Vehicle Rental Requirements
- To hire a vehicle from Car Hire in Hampton, drivers must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions may vary depending on the vehicle type, with extra charges applicable for those under 25. A valid full driving licence, appropriate for the vehicle category, is required and must be held for the duration outlined in the Rental Agreement. Additionally, valid identification and proof of current address must be provided, along with payment information and a security deposit. Any further requirements specified in the Rental Agreement must also be met.
Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations for Car Hire can be completed via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Dartford office. To confirm your booking, a deposit may be necessary. Full payment, along with a security deposit, is usually required at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT as applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, with secure processing managed by trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is your responsibility to conduct a thorough inspection and report any existing damages without delay. A vehicle condition report will be prepared for mutual acknowledgment. The vehicle must be returned in the same condition as it was collected, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damages will be evaluated and applicable charges will apply. Ensure the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level as at pickup; otherwise, refueling fees will be incurred. Late returns may result in additional fees, so please inform us promptly if you anticipate being late. You will also be liable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges that arise during your rental period, along with an associated administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Details
- All rentals come with basic third-party insurance included. You will find comprehensive coverage details and excess amounts outlined in your Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to limit your financial liability, so reviewing these options is advisable. You remain liable for damage or loss up to the excess amount unless you opt for extra insurance. Any damage resulting from negligence or misuse will be your responsibility, irrespective of existing insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice given. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show up may incur additional charges.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Uses of Your Vehicle
- The vehicle must not be used for illegal activities or purposes. Engaging in racing, rallying, or off-roading is prohibited, as are any actions involving hazardous materials. Sub-letting the vehicle or allowing unauthorized drivers is not permitted. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. The vehicle should only be used within its intended capacity and weight limits, and travel outside the agreed geographical boundaries requires prior approval.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Hampton will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our maximum liability for any claims will be limited to the rental amount you paid in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.
Governing Law in Hampton
These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be addressed exclusively in English and Welsh courts.
